I think I’m the only person in the world who was shocked by Corey Haim’s death, but I completely lost track of him after the ’80s and didn’t know about the problems he’d been having with prescription drugs. It’s a damn shame things turned out the way they did for him.
The Lost Boys was such an iconic movie. Maybe it’s because I was a teenager in the ’80s, but it never seems dated in that bad ’80s way to me, even though it’s so unambiguously placed in that decade – it’s a period piece in the non-pejorative way. An awful lot of the movie was squarely on Corey Haim’s shoulders and he did a great job of carrying it.
